Bluey was surrendered to BAHR in the fall of 2023, when his owner lost her job and could no longer care for him. He was trained to ride as a young horse, but the current owner kept him as a pet and did not choose to rode him, so although very gentle and loving, we evaluated him to be an extremely green 18 year old QH.
     Bluey did not attract many adopters thanks to his need for further training, but lucky for us all, Christene came along! She is a lifelong horse woman who had recently lost her senior citizen, leaving another retired horse alone. While she wasn't interested in starting a young horse, she certainly wasn't afraid to put some time in with a gentle older guy! It's a great match and they were trail riding within a week!
