The EQUUS Foundation was founded as an IRS tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) charity in August 2002 and awarded its first grants in August 2003.  Since then, it has awarded over $1.1 million in grants, helping thousands of people and horses each year.
  Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law and are received by both individuals and corporations. The Federal Identification Number of the Foundation is 42-1547242.
  The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors representing a cross-section of the equestrian community, including supporters, participants, and professionals.
