Our organization operates programs involved with providing equine assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) using certified instructors for individuals with special needs.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care of horses to provide its services.

100% of our total programs and services are horse-related.

Our organization conducts its horse-related programs at one facility.

Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
The mission of the Santa Ynez Valley Therapeutic Riding Program is to provide professional horseback riding lessons and equine facilitated therapies to enhance the lives of people with special needs regardless of their ability to pay.

Horse-related programs:
The Santa Ynez Valley Therapeutic Riding Program serves 120 individuals each week and more than 304 unduplicated individuals annually. Current programming includes:<br /><br />Therapeutic Riding<br /> Individual and semi-private therapeutic riding lessons <br /> Solvang School’s Special Ed. Class (on-going weekly)<br /> SYV High School’s Special Ed. Class (vocational training on-going weekly)<br /> College School’s Special Ed. Class (4 week summer course)<br /> United Cerebral Palsy’s Applied Abilities (on-going weekly)<br /> Vandenberg Air Force Base Field Days for special needs children and children with a deployed parent<br /> Special Education Class Field Trips<br /><br />HELP (Horse Enlightened Learning & Psychotherapy): HELP mental health program with the Los Prietos Boys camp with our volunteer psychologist, Dr. Wilkinson (on-going weekly).<br /><br />HELP with Dr. Wilkinson also includes 4-8 weeks sessions with 7 county-wide special education classes. Students range in age from 12-22 and have a mental health diagnosis.
