The Eighth Equestrian Wonder Coming to Wellington

WESTPORT, CT - December 30, 2013 - The EQUUS Foundation will be welcoming in the new year by featuring a Olympic-level vaulting exhibition at its second Fete Cheval Etoile on Sunday evening, March 16, 2014, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida.

Vaulting, one of only eight international equestrian disciplines, involves the combination of gymnastics and dance movements performed on horseback. The exhibition will be performed under the lights in the International Arena by the Friendship Vaulting Team USA, composed of silver and gold level American Vaulting Association (AVA) vaulters from across the country.

Jenny Belknap Kees, Chairman of the Board of the EQUUS Foundation, and Chrystine Tauber, President of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), are serving as the Honorary Chairs of the event, which will celebrate the extraordinary talent of horses and the magical bond between horses and people.

The event will begin with cocktails and a silent auction at 6:30 p.m. in the Gallery followed by dinner in the Wellington Club. Prior to the vaulting exhibition, Kees and Tauber will induct the second class of horses into the Horse Stars Hall of Fame, a joint program of the EQUUS Foundation and USEF to honor the contributions of amazing horses by sharing the stories of their athletic and humanitarian feats. The star-studded evening will close with dancing.

"After the breathtaking performance of the Cirque Vertigo troupe at the 2013 event, it made perfect sense to feature vaulting at our Fete Cheval Etoile," said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President. “We are so excited to be able to feature this unique performance, which will also raise funds for team members to qualify for and compete in the FEI Alltech World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Normandy, France.”

The event is sure to be a sell-out. Make your reservations to attend today at https://equusfoundation.org/fete.
