EQUUS Foundation Awards Over $250,000 in Grants & Scholarships

The Board of Directors of the EQUUS Foundation is proud to announce that over $250,000 was awarded in grants and scholarships this year.

Grants are awarded to equine charities operating at the highest standards for horse care and use, and for programs where it is needed most. These charities are hard at work every day rescuing and rehabilitating unwanted horses, retraining horses after their sport careers are over, and providing homes where they continue to serve, especially for the special needs and veterans communities, or where they can live out their lives in comfort as they deserve.

Only charities that make available to the public detailed information on their equine policies and practices are designated as "Messengers" and are eligible to apply for an EQUUS Foundation grant.

"We have developed one of the most comprehensive and impartial verification processes to inspire donor confidence in our evaluation and selection process - and immense pride among those charities awarded Messenger Grants each year. It means something to be awarded an EQUUS Foundation grant, " said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President.
