The Roaring 1920s in the United States was a boisterous decade of economic growth and prosperity -- arts and culture were redefined -- and philanthropy came of age. On February 22, 2020, the EQUUS Foundation will celebrate the beginning of a bold new era for America's horses -- as athletes, companions, teachers and healers -- where all horses will transition from one chapter to the next without risk of abuse, neglect and slaughter.
Horses empower people to be all that they can be. They bring joy to young and old alike - and make those with the deepest of wounds whole again. However, horses are also confronted with a disturbing reality. Tens of thousands of young healthy horses continue to be transported across our borders to be slaughtered each year.
We make it our mission to protect and save America's horses at risk of abuse, neglect and slaughter through partnerships with equine organizations across the nation and by investing in new and innovative collaborations between horses and people.
