Maryland Horse Industry Board is an Alliance member of the EQUUS Foundation. The EQUUS Foundation Alliance offers a mechanism to address national areas of interest in the equine community through its alliance with national non-profit organizations and government entities that share a commitment to equine welfare. Mission:
The Maryland Horse Industry Board has two main functions: 1. Regulatory. We license nearly 800 commercial riding schools, boarding stables, rescue and rental operations and inspect them for the protection of both the horse and the consumer 2. Economic Development. By state law we are charged with bringing about awareness and helping to grow, market and promote the equine industry.
