EQUUS Foundation partners with HEART Equine Ambulance at Fairfield June Horse Show

WESTPORT, CT - June 1, 2012 - The EQUUS Foundation and HEART Equine Ambulance are partnering to provide emergency equine service and transport at the "AA-Rated" Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show, which will be held on Tuesday-Saturday, June 19-23, 2012 on the grounds of the historic Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport, CT.

Humane Equine Aid & Rapid Transport (HEART) is a member of the EQUUS Foundation Alliance, established in August 2011 to recognize the contributions of organizations involved in the equine community whose activities and programs complement and enhance the mission of The EQUUS Foundation.

"Underwriting the costs of bringing the HEART Equine Ambulance to the Fairfield Show is a perfect example of how the EQUUS Foundation Alliance is working with national organizations in the equine community to promote horse welfare," said Dr. Richard Mitchell of Fairfield Equine Associates and EQUUS Foundation Board Member. Fairfield Equine Associates provides veterinary services at the show.

About HEART Equine Ambulance
Based in Madison, VA, HEART is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable corporation dedicated to providing emergency transport to injured or ill horses. HEART was founded in 2002 and currently owns two state-of-the-art, fully equipped equine ambulances. The Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show promises exciting competition and special events for all. National and local equestrians will compete in over 250 classes during the five-day show. Admission to the show and parking is free, and the public is welcome especially for Saturday's Grand Prix, the culminating event of the show. The EQUUS Foundation will hold its Benefit Luncheon in conjunction with the Grand Prix starting at 11:30 a.m. Seats are $250 per person and are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
