Back on Track USA

For the Love of Horses. "That short little phrase encapsulates why most of us started in this industry," says James Ruder, CEO of Back on Track USA. "From the time I was a young boy at the age of 7, horses were my respite. My first horse was a 4-year-old dun Buckskin Quarter Horse named Rondo.

When chaos ensued at home or at school, I could go to the barn, brush my horse, or even lay with my head on Rondo’s belly while he took his own little siesta. Having this ‘out’ meant everything to me."

"Fast-forward 60 years, and nothing has changed. It's always been for the Love of the Horse. That’s why Back on Track has become a corporate partner and sponsor of the EQUUS Foundation," Mr. Ruder says.

Sponsored By
Back on Track USA

The EQUUS Foundation would like to express its appreciation to Back on Track for helping to provide needed funds to deserving organizations that are ensuring that America's horses are safe, and live in comfort with purpose and dignity and increasing opportunities for equines to engage, inspire and empower people.

The Back on Track Veteran Services Grant program is specifically focused on supporting equine charities in the United States that provide Equine Assisted Services to veterans and the family members of veterans.

EQUUS Foundation Veteran Services Grant

Only those organizations that have received the EQUUS Foundation Guardian designation are eligible to apply for an equine in their care that provides Equine Assisted Services to veterans or the family members of veterans.

Funds are limited to the yearly donation made by Back on Track to the EQUUS Foundation. Selections will be made by a committee of EQUUS Foundation and Back on Track representatives. Back on Track Grant Recipients will receive a $500 grant to be used for the nominated equine and other equines that participate in Equine Assisted Services programs for veterans or family members of veterans. Grants totalling $4500.00 will be awarded in 2024.

To apply, the EQUUS Foundation Guardian will need to log into its organization profile, select "BACK ON TRACK VETERANS SERVICES GRANTS", and complete the online application. Applicants must address how the funds will be used, and within six months of receipt of funds, grantees must report on the use of the funds, including bills for services rendered.
