Our Mission/How we are involved with horses:
Saving Thoroughbred horses, no longer able to compete on the racetrack, from possible neglect, abuse, and slaughter.
In an effort to fulfill our mission, TRF operates sanctuary farms at seven correctional facilities and numerous private farms. Those not able to have a secondary athletic career, or are not candidates for adoption become part of our correctional facility-based vocational training program in equine care and stable management. We also provide lifelong care at private retirement farms in nine states.

Primary Focus involving horses (Horse Welfare, Public Service, Sport & Recreation):  Horse Welfare

Our organization provides community outreach and/or public education programs involving horses.

Our organization'operates programs involved with equine rescue, adoption & retirement.

Our organization is directly responsible for the care and shelter of equines involved in our programs.
