Spot came back to GER as a return—he had been adopted out a few years ago and as he began to lose his vision his pasture mates became aggressive towards him. We got him the surgery’s that he needed to remove his painful, blind eyes and after a few months of recovery he began to settle in. Spot was finally adopted by a loving couple who when asked what attracted them to Spot they said that they had experience with volunteering at an animal shelter and noted the deep sadness they felt for the less-than-perfect animals that seemed to wait forever for someone to come for them. When their own horse needed a companion Spot caught their eye and when they came to meet him there was no question that he was going home with them. Spot’s life has forever changed and so has his outlook. He is now not afraid to show his love for his new family nor accept it!
