Prince Lorenzo Borghese, entrepreneur, television personality and member of the illustrious Borghese family of Italy, has devoted much of his time to volunteering for animal rescue groups, and will be lending his star power to the EQUUS Foundation on Saturday, February 25th.

"We are thrilled to have Prince Borghese join us for cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a fabulous silent auction at 6 pm prior to the $380,000 Grand Prix CSI 5* in the Wellington Club at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Florida," said EQUUS Foundation Founder and President Lynn Coakley.

"Prince Borghese is an advocate for all animals, but on February 25th, it's all for the love of horses," said Valerie Angeli, EQUUS Foundation VP Communications & Special Projects. Under Angeli's leadership, more star power will be coming to the aid of horses as EQUUS Foundation EQUUStars, including Arianna Rockefeller, Brianne Goutal-Marteau, Georgina Bloomberg, Hayley Barnhill, Jennifer Gates, Jessica Springsteen & Paige Johnson.

"Horses are amazing athletes but they can do so much more and where they go next is up to us. They teach us, heal us, carry us, inspire us. In 2016 alone, 130,000 American horses were shipped across the border to be slaughtered. Most were young and healthy and could have had a future. We need to keep America's horses protected, working and loved," continued Angeli.

The EQUUStars will be donating their time to the EQUUS Foundation to educate their followers in media and social media on horse welfare issues that are being addressed by the EQUUS Foundation, participate in EQUUS Foundation endeavors and efforts, including fundraising and representing the EQUUS Foundation at events and activities - all with the purpose to inspire action and turn horse lovers into horse protectors.

As the only national animal welfare charity in the United States dedicated solely to horse welfare and the horse-human bond, the EQUUS Foundation is uniquely positioned to bridge the gap for America's horses at risk, and those potentially at risk when their competitive careers are over.

None of this is possible without the support of our sponsors and donors!
