2024 Traverse City Horse Shows Kick Off in June with New Equine Ambassadors Program
Horses are herd animals and loyal friends to each other and to us. They band together to help each other and form powerful bonds -- but they depend on us for their protection. It is in this spirit that the EQUUS Foundation created a program where horses literally help each other.
Traverse City Horse Shows (TCHS) is partnering with the EQUUS Foundation to inspire owners of their beloved show horses competing at the 2024 Traverse City Horse Shows to directly benefit equines representing EQUUS Foundation Guardian charities.
From One Horse to Another - We Can Help All Horses Thrive!
"We are excited to announce our partnership with the EQUUS Foundation to launch the Equine Ambassadors Program at this season. We all care deeply for these animals, and it brings us satisfaction to see them benefit from such a wonderful initiative," said Natalie Schaffer, Event Manager.
Even if you are not competing at TCHS, the stories of the horses
representing our Guardian charities will melt your heart!

Informed giving has never been more important. Only equine charities that have undergone a rigorous review of their business and equine welfare practices are eligible to attain the EQUUS Foundation Guardian designation and receive financial support from the EQUUS Foundation. These charities are dedicated to finding homes for at-risk horses, providing safe havens for aged and infirm horses, and increasing opportunities for horses to engage, inspire, and empower people.
"We are grateful to TCHS for taking the lead in offering this unique program to their competitors to help ensure that all horses are safe, healthy, and treated with dignity as partners, " said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President, "and we hope other horse shows will also participate."
